Passages Treatment – The Industry Standard
Passages Ventura will provide you with the most comprehensive and sophisticated
addiction treatment in the country. You will find our treatment center, our approach, and our
treatment philosophy to be a breath of fresh air for many reasons. Here are some of the most important ones:
1. We are not a 12 Step program.
2. We do not believe that alcoholism and addiction are diseases.
3. We help you discover and heal the underlying problems in your life that are causing you to use substances.
4. All your primary therapy is done in one-on-one sessions.
Many years ago, Passages redefined addiction treatment and is continuing to do so with their two elite
drug rehabs. Unlike most treatment centers that teach you that addiction is a disease, the founders, Chris and Pax Prentiss, a father and son team, discovered that addiction is caused by underlying problems in your life, and that in order to get you sober, you must first heal the
causes of your addiction.
Since this breakthrough, Passages has gone on to become the world’s most recognized treatment center due to our cutting-edge treatment techniques, abundance of nurses, therapists and doctors. Passages has set a new standard in the treatment of addiction and substance abuse, which is sure to remain the leading example for many years to come.
Chris’ son, Pax, is over 11 years sober and is a perfect example that this program works. Pax failed many times at other programs until one day his father helped him discover the cause of his addiction. Finding out
“the why” behind his addiction completely transformed Pax’s life. It was the last day that he used drugs and alcohol and he’s been sober ever since. Afterward, Pax and Chris went on to establish Passages with their new approach to treating addiction. That is how Passages began and our program is still tailored for people who want something new.
Moving Beyond 12 Step Treatment
Nearly every 12 Step rehab in the world still offers a group-meeting approach to therapy. A 12 Step-based rehab gives you almost zero one-on-one attention, and lots of group meetings. The people at these centers will tell you that you are an addict, that you have a disease, and that you are powerless. They insist that in order for you to stay sober, you will have to go to 12 Step meetings for the rest of your life. Not only does this deprive you of hope, it reinforces addiction as something you must live with forever. At Passages, we have found through direct experience, that the 12 Step treatment model is not effective for many people. If you or a loved one is one of these people, we invite you to try Passages.
